Cristina I. Papadopoulou received her BSc in “Applied Informatics” from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. Since then, she has been working in typical and vocational education, teaching both adults and children. Currently, she is attending the postgraduate program “Advanced Technologies of Informatics and Computers” at International Hellenic University and works as Project Administrative Assistant in the HUman-MAchines INteraction Lab (HUMAIN-Lab). As an early-stage researcher, she works for the project “Social Robots as Tools in Special Education” of the HUman-MAchines INteraction Lab (HUMAIN-Lab). While involved in this research program she is gaining experience in social robotics applications for delivering high level services to children with learning disabilities and high-functioning autism, in terms of general knowledge, technical and programming skills. Her research interests include human-robot interaction, machine learning, computer vision, pattern recognition with intelligent systems, social robotics and special education, whilst she has contributed to relevant publications.
